Worldwide Project Consortium (WWPC) members Steder Group, Global Star Logistics, and Royal Cargo have delivered three transformers and accessories from the supplier’s facilities in China to Manila in the Philippines.
The three transformers measured 7.3 m x 3.10 m x 3.9 m and weighed 68 tons (61.7 tonnes) each. Including the accompanying accessories, the shipment had a total volume of 20,309 cu m.
In partnership with the Netherlands-based Steder Group, Global Star Logistics oversaw the transport from the supplier’s facilities in China and the ocean transport from Shanghai to Manila. Royal Cargo then handled the delivery from the port to the project site.
The members said that a typhoon and unexpected port restrictions with regard to the transformer oil in Manila posed challenges, but this did not hinder the timing of the delivery.
