Höegh Autoliners has transported a 54-tonne turbine destined for a sugar plant project from India to Saudi Arabia.
The cargo was loaded on board the ro-ro vessel Höegh St Petersburg in Mumbai for transportation on its India to Europe service, which also calls at Jeddah.
Measuring 4.51 m tall, the turbine was loaded onto Höegh’s vessel using its super-low roll trailer, which has a height of 0.47 m and a capacity of 75 tonnes.
“With the super-low roll trailer allowing us to load higher breakbulk cargo than before we can increase the service offering to our customers in the country,” explained Atuldutt Sharma, breakbulk sales manager India.
Sharma added that this was the first shipment out of India using the new super-low roll trailers.
