Grupo Altius has coordinated the loading of a fully erected ship-to-shore (STS) crane at the port of Bilbao, Spain in cooperation with Marítima Davila and Toro y Betolaza.
It took 12 hours to load the 1,280-tonne Kalmar crane, which was 68 m tall and 27 m wide, onto BigLift’s multipurpose Happy Star vessel. It was brought alongside the ship on SPMTs and lifted on board using the ship’s own cranes.
The crane is bound for a container terminal in Guadalupe.
