“We are pleased to have been awarded the contract for the construction of the new Uttrichshausen viaduct. Building modern bridges is essential for the development of our infrastructure,” said Strabag ceo Klemens Haselsteiner.

The work is expected to be finished by the end of 2029 and able to accommodate 51,000 vehicles daily by 2030. The bridge is situated on the A7 south of Fulda and crosses the valley of the Uttrichshausen district of Kalbach municipality.

Strabag’s contract also includes dismantling the two existing structures, which are 880 m long and around 30 m wide.

The new bridge will span over 900 m, with the two component structures to be constructed in the same position as the existing construct. They will be equipped with noise barriers and a noise-mitigating road surface on either side.
