Heerema’s Sleipnir has installed the Tolmount platform in the southern part of the North Sea.
Heerema said that the project consisted of installing the 2,350-tonne jacket and 2,500-tonne topside, constructed by Rosetti Marino.
The Premier Oil-operated Tolmount field development is on track to deliver first gas in the second quarter of 2021.
“The close collaboration with Rosetti Marino has been a highlight of the Tolmount project. Despite challenges introduced by the ongoing pandemic, we worked together to find creative solutions, which were handled with total professionalism and high regard for safety,” said Michel Hendriks, Heerema’s transport and installation director.
Sleipnir has a 220 m x 102 m reinforced deck area; a pair of revolving cranes can lift 20,000 tonnes in tandem. The vessel also comes equipped with dual-fuel engines and will run on marine gasoil (MGO) and LNG. It also boasts an IMO and US Coast Guard-approved ballast water management system, enabling it to work across all jurisdictions.
