Schmidbauer has erected the last of three prototype turbines for France’s floating wind farm, Provence Grand Large.
The German heavy lift specialist was awarded the project about four and half years ago and since collaborated with Siemens Gamesa for the engineering, HSE and commercial aspects. Earlier this year, it started mobilising equipment to the port area in Fos-sur-Mer, including a newly acquired Liebherr LR 11350 crawler crane, equipped with a power boom.
The first turbine was erected during July 2023, as HLPFI reported here.
