Sarens has transported and assembled components of a 580-tonne tunnel boring machine (TBM), as part of a railway construction project in Lodz, Poland.
On behalf of Yoruk, Sarens deployed a Demag AC 500 and Liebherr LTM 1130 to assemble the TBM components, which ranged in weight from 69 to 180 tonnes.
Once assembled, two SL3800 lattice boom cranes then lifted the TBM into its chamber.
Sarens said the lifting plan was modified by the client, requiring a set of spreaders to be mobilised at short notice from the UK.
