The project’s highlight was transporting and loading the massive offshore converter platform (OCP) topside (14,000 tonnes, 57 m high) and the OCP jacket (5,250 tonnes, 51 m high). Working alongside RWE and GE and managed by Seatrium, the work took place at the Seatrium Yard in Batam, Indonesia, between May 25 and June 15.

The equipment is a critical part of the high-voltage direct current (HVDC) system that will be installed at the Sofia offshore wind farm in the UK.

Sarens provided manpower, engineering, mooring winches, weighing equipment, along with 524 axles of SPMTs with 18 power pack units for its scope in the project. With 28 crew members at the peak of the project, the Sarens team overcame challenges including the rainy season’s impact on ground preparation, ensuring project success.
