Heavy transport and installation contractor Sarens has installed a 250-tonne bridge in the centre of Hazebrouck, France.
Within a strict lifting window, Sarens utilised its SL3800 650-tonne capacity crawler crane in the SSL configuration to move and install the walkway. The 75 m-long bridge had to be manoeuvred and installed above eight railway lines.
Project manager Koen Rooms explained: “A test lift was performed a day before the scheduled lift to precisely execute the operation. The bridge was lifted at a radius of 27m and installed in five hours.”
