Sarens is collaborating with its client Çalık Enerji on the expansion of Talimarjan thermal power plant in Uzbekistan.
As part of its collaboration with Çalık Enerji, Sarens will lift heat recovery steam generator (HRSG) modules, along with other modules weighing up to 258 tonnes and measuring up to 125 m, throughout 2025.
This is a part of efforts to increase the plant’s power supply, with two further combined cycle plants being added to reach a total capacity of at least 900 MW.
Seven cranes are being used for the project and include the Manitowoc CC 18000 and the Terex Demag CC2500 models, which have lifting capacities of 750 tonnes and 500 tonnes, respectively. The former was delivered to the site via rail, while the other equipment was transported using lowbed trailers relying on more than 30 different routes.
It then took four riggers between one day and two weeks to assemble the different pieces of equipment.
Last week, HLPFI reported that Sarens lifted a pedestrian and cyclist path into place in France.
