Roll Group has executed two 1,000 tonne-plus lifts using its modular gantry system at a petrochemical facility in Cilegon, Indonesia.
The company said that its RMG modular gantry crane can install loads weighing up to 3,000 tonnes to a height of 120 m. The system can operate without the need for guy wires which minimises disruptions nearby, it said.
Within the scope of the Cilegon project, Roll Group’s involvement extended beyond the gantry lifts. It was also tasked with discharging the incoming vessels, transport of all cargo within the facility and lifting the cargo into position. This project represents a total transport solution, including engineering, project management and the utilisation of SPMT’s and five crawler cranes, said Roll Group.
The company has begun fabricating a second gantry system that will be ready for use by the end of 2024.
Roll Group has been strengthening its presence in the Asia Pacific market by opening offices in Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, Thailand and South Korea. Earlier this month its confirmed that its Thailand office is moving to a new location with its own yard.
