Canaan Group has delivered 24 railcars from Busan in South Korea to Vancouver, Canada.
Hyundai Rotem manufactured the railcars, which will be used on Canada Line’s subway route between Vancouver International Airport and Downtown Vancouver.
This delivery was the fifth and final shipment of railcars organised by Canaan Group, member of the Project Cargo Network (PCN), for this project.
Meanwhile Consolidated Shipping Services (CSS), PCN member in Bahrain, is handling equipment for a power and desalination plant project.
CSS’s project scope includes receiving cargo at Khalifa Bin Salman Port, moving the components to the port’s storage facilities, Customs clearance, and onward transportation of the cargoes to the project site.
“The movement has considerable challenges including arranging the receiving of the cargo at the last moment, shifting the equipment within the port, putting the cargo on stools and mobilising suitable trailers for the delivery from the port to the consignee's site as well as all documentation and Customs clearance for the import, the import handling and continuous follow up and coordination with all parties in order to complete the deliveries on time,” explained CSS.
