Dan-Czech Specialtransport has handled the delivery of a 110-tonne turbine from the Siemens factory in Görlitz, Germany to Avonmouth, UK.
As a result of low water levels on the river Elbe, the turbine had to be transported via Nuremberg. According to Dan-Czech, the turbines would usually be transported via Dresden or Aken.
From Nuremberg the turbine was transported to Rotterdam by barge, where it was loaded onto a vessel for onward transportation to Avonmouth.
For the road transport from the factory to the loading dock in Nuremberg, the combination measured 26.5 m x 4.7 m x 5.25 m and weighed 163.4 tonnes, excluding the push truck.
In total, it took three weeks to transport the equipment from Görlitz to its final destination.
