Mammoet Canada has assisted Seaspan Shipyards with the launch of the first of three ships designed and built for the Canadian Coast Guard.
Mammoet supplied 60 axle lines of SPMTs, in addition to the shipyard's existing 32 axle lines of SPMTs, in order to transport the 2,450-ton (2489-tonne), 63 m-long vessel to the dock.
The 92 axle lines moved the ship from its load out pier to a 131 m floating dry dock. From there, the ship was launched into Vancouver harbour.
Mammoet Canada will work with Seaspan on the transport operations for the next two vessels - all of which will be used for scientific research and ecosystem-based management of Canada's fisheries.
