Mammoet has launched a replica of Russia’s first 54-gun battleship, Poltava, at the Gulf of Finland in the Baltic Sea.
To launch the 600-ton (544.3-tonne) wooden ship, Mammoet utilised SPMTs to move the vessel from the hangar of the shipyard. For the lift and launch procedure, Mammoet deployed its PTC 35 ring crane. Its reach, small footprint and high capacity allowed Mammoet to lift the ship within the limited space of the shipyard and rotate it 180 degrees in preparation for launch.
The replica of the historic battleship will be a floating museum in St. Petersburg.
