Mammoet transported a Boeing 747 from Amsterdam’s Schiphol airport to the Corendon Village hotel, the Netherlands, over the course of five days.
The former KLM B747, City of Bangkok, will be converted into a 5D experience detailing the history of the aircraft and the overall aviation industry.
The plane measured 64 m in width, 71 m in length and weighed 160 tons (145 tonnes). Mammoet used SPMTs to complete the 12.5 km overland journey to the hotel.
The route included crossing highway A9, one provincial road and 17 ditches. Bridges were built over the ditches in preparation for the project move.
The final 4.5 km of the route was across fields. Mammoet was forced to build a road using 2,100 plates, each plate weighing 1.5 tonnes.
