Mammoet has completed the installation of four 1,180-tonne bullet tanks at the Liwa Plastics Industries Complex (LPIC) in Oman.
Each tank, measuring 60 m long and 7.8 m in diameter, was positioned in sand beds using Mammoet's PTC 35 DS ring crane in tandem with a 1,200-tonne lifting capacity crawler crane.
The small footprint of the PTC 35 DS, which has a lifting capacity of 1,600 tonnes, enabled the crane to work within the limited confines of the LPIC site, said Mammoet.
Mammoet has been providing heavy lifting and transportation services for the petrochemical project, under development by ORPIC, since 2017; and has contributed to the safety milestone of 10 million man-hours worked without lost time injury (LTI).
