Laso Transportes has moved components for five wind turbines being built at the Stev wind farm in Zaragoza, Spain.
With 50 wind components – including tubes, nacelles and blades – being transported and these being loaded at different locations, effective planning and logistical coordination were pivotal to the project’s success. Aranda del Duero and Santander were two of the loading points.
Spanning June and July, the project took more than three weeks in total and Laso had to work against extreme heat, meaning that regular checks of items were made. Power adapters were necessary to transport both the nacelles and the tubes.
“We are extremely pleased with the success of this operation. It was an exemplary job of coordination between the teams and overcoming logistical challenges, achieved thanks to everyone’s dedication,” said the project manager of the operation.
Last month, Laso Transportes placed a 410-tonne viaduct over the A28 motorway in Porto.
