Portugal’s Laso Transportes moved 11 wind turbines destined for the Atalayas wind farm, which is being built in Spain.

The project took over a month with more than 40 professionals including drivers, pilots and engineers working to coordinate the transport of 121 components from several loading points: Aranda de Duero, Daimiel and Santander.

Super-wing carrier trailers were mobilised to move the turbine blades. Modular trailers were employed for the other components.

Different routes were planned in case of unforeseen changes, and a police escort helped minimise the impact of traffic and ensured safety during the process.

In July, Laso moved components for five wind turbines being built at the Stev wind farm in Zaragoza, Spain.
