Kübler transports two 445-tonne transformers in Lower Saxony

The weight of the two transformers presented the team with major challenges. Beginning in Nuremberg, the transformers were picked up from the manufacturer and shipped north to the port Saterland. An 800-tonne crawler crane then loaded each transformer onto a girder bridge combination, which has a combined weight of 730 tonnes and an overall length of 82 m

Due to bridge restrictions, a 40 km-long route needed to be taken. Additional axle lines were installed on critical bridge sections to minimise axle loads and ensure safety. The two converter transformers safely reached their destination at the onshore station in Garrel.
