Recently, Jumbo’s heavy lift vessel Jumbo Jubilee called at the Pilbara Port Authority’s port of Dampier in Australia to transfer reels for deepsea cables.
The double-banking operation saw the oversized cargoes transhipped onto TechnipFMC’s Deep Orient.
In a similar operation, TechnipFMC contracted the Jumbo-SAL-Alliance for the transhipment of three pairs of manifold structures and various other equipment onto Allseas’ offshore vessel Fortitude in preparation for subsea installation.
That project involved the installation of subsea manifolds to accommodate new wells, infield flowlines and umbilicals to tie into the existing subsea infrastructure in the Chevron-operated Gorgon and Jansz-Io fields.
For the transport and transhipment, Jumbo deployed the J-class vessel Fairpartner, which has cranes with a combined lifting capacity of 1,800 tonnes and 3,100 sq m of free deck space. This meant the vessel was able to carry all cargo in a single voyage and transfer it onto Fortitude.
In addition, Jumbo was responsible for the engineering and fabrication of the grillages and seafastening.
