India’s J M Baxi has loaded-out a 5,700 tonne offshore process module destined for the Marjan oil field development project in Saudi Arabia.
The company’s heavy transport team loaded the massive unit on a 400-class barge using 260 axle lines of SPMTs. 83 ballast pumps, capable of transferring 30,000 tonnes of water per hour, were used to keep the barge level.
The works were executed at Larsen & Toubro’s yard in Hazira.
In July 2019, Saudi Aramco awarded contracts for the engineering, procurement and construction of Marjan increment programme, an offshore field in Saudi Arabia. This development programme includes a new offshore gas oil separation plant, and 24 offshore oil, gas and water injection platforms. Onshore, it planned to expand its Tanajib oil facilities and construct a gas plant, to include gas treatment and processing, recovery and fractionation, and gas compression facilities.
