Genoa-based forwarder Iscotrans has moved two out-of-gauge (OOG) reels from Trieste, Italy to Rotterdam in the Netherlands.
At 520 and 460 tonnes, the reels were among the heaviest ever loaded in Italy.
At the port of Trieste, they were transferred from SPMTs onto a BigLift Shipping vessel destined for Rotterdam.
Iscotrans said it took approximately two hours to load the 520-tonne reel aboard. Utmost care was taken ahead of the project to calculate the forces involved during the lift and the marine voyage.
