An investigation has been launched into an incident at the port of Rostock, Germany, which saw two mobile cranes roll off the deck of a heavy lift vessel.
Last Friday – January 31, 2020 – for reasons as yet unknown, the two cranes rolled off the deck of Jumbo Vision into the water.
In a statement, the heavy lift shipping company said: “As far as we know now, there has been an environmental spillage from the cranes. At the moment this is being contained by the local authorities.”
Jumbo added that it immediately launched a full investigation and dispatched a team to Rostock. It confirmed that two people involved in the incident were injured but no one was hospitalised.
