The first nuclear reactor for Hinkley Point C in the UK has arrived in Somerset.
The reactor measures 13 m long and weighs 500 tonnes. It was manufactured by Framatome in France and arrived at Avonmouth Docks in Bristol before being transported by barge to Combwich Wharf on the River Parrett in Somerset.
The final journey was a 6.4 km trip to the construction site.
The arrival of the reactor marks a significant milestone for Hinkley Point C. It will be installed in the reactor building after the dome is lifted into place.
