Heavy lift and transport engineering company Hareket has transported a trio of transformers from Khalifa Port to the Ruwais Volta Grid Station, both in the UAE.
Each transformer weighed 275 tonnes and measured 13.25 m x 5.2 m x 4.55 m. Hareket used a 12-axle, 4-file THP trailers and tow trucks by specialised prime movers for each project cargo piece.
During the 290 km journey, roadside barriers had to be removed to allow for tight turns, paired with general challenging terrain along the way.
The 220 kV transformers were precisely lifted using support beams, before being lowered onto platforms. They will be used at the 220 kV Ruwais Volta Grid Station.
In January 2025, Hareket delivered 40 trams from Türkiye to Romania.
