Turkish heavy lift and transport engineering firm Hareket overcame high altitudes and freezing temperatures to deliver wind energy equipment. In a separate project, the company was tasked with moving a 1,400-tonne yacht at a local shipyard.

Traversing a 454-km route from Gemlik port to the wind farm in Şarkikaraağaç, Isparta, Hareket moved the equipment in temperatures as low as -25°C and at altitudes as high as 2,400 m. Special bypass operations at bridges, intersections, and narrow passage points were performed by Hareket.

With a 125-tonne generator the heaviest component transport in the project and a 136-tonne rotor the heaviest component lifted, Hareket employed a 650-tonne crawler crane, supported by a 250-tonne telescopic boom crawler crane to provide flexibility and reach. In addition, a 250-tonne mobile crane, a 200-tonne mobile crane, and a 130-tonne moile crane were used for precise positioning and support throughout the installation process.

Each turbine installation was completed in as little as 2.5 days.

Hareket has also been busy moving a giant Predator yacht, which is 73 m in length and weighs 1,400 tonnes, from a floating deck to its final location within a shipyard.

It opted for two 38-axle Scheuerle SPMTs, with the front section of the boat raised by 190 cm and then moved accordingly.

Last week, HLPFI reported that Hareket transported a trio of transformers in the UAE.
