Italy-based Fortune International Transport and Switzerland-based ITS International Transport & Shipping have teamed up to load a 125-ton (113.4-tonne) rotor.
The rotor was transported from the factory in Italy to the port of Marghera by train. It was then loaded onboard an ocean-going vessel for onward transportation to China.
Both Fortune International and ITS International are members of the Project Cargo Network (PCN).
Fellow PCN members Pinto Basto and Zoom Cargo have also recently cooperated for the transport of nine Archimedes’ screws plus their accessories from the Czech Republic.
Measuring 15.5 m x 1.5 m x 1.7 m and weighing 6 tonnes each, the screws were transported to Dakar, Senegal.
The project scope included Customs clearance; land transport to the port of loading; port handling and coordination; loading, lashing and securing; as well as unloading and unlashing.
