FLS Projects has coordinated the delivery of six barges and workboats, weighing 390 tonnes in total, on board the multipurpose vessel Coe Curia.
The cargoes were picked up from Halong Bay port in Vietnam. A 163-tonne feed barge and a 108-tonne Aquacat workboat were delivered to Port Nelson, New Zealand, while two 58-tonne dumb barges, a second Aquacat workboat, and a 22-tonne work vessel were delivered to Bluff Harbour.
FLS said that its stowage plan to fit the six boats on one vessel optimised the shipping time and saved costs for the client. The loading operation also included divers to assist with the hooking up of the cargo.
Each boat and barge required bespoke handling solutions, from crane settings to lashing and securing.
The vessels will be deployed in the aquaculture industry.
