FLS Group has transported a 596-tonne deconstructed modular jack-up barge from Sharjah, UAE, to the Maldives.
FLS Group, alongside its partner Fleetline (UAE), coordinated cargo collection in Sharjah’s free trade zone to vessel loading. It said the real test came in Hanimaadhoo, Maldives, where direct port discharge was not viable due to shallow waters.
Landing craft and vessel cranes were used to offload the cargo safely. FLS Group’s team worked alongside Lanka Shipping – which is based in the Maldives – to combat difficult weather conditions which included heavy rain, high swells, and shifting tides. The cargo was handed over at a remote private jetty.
Earlier this month, HLPFI reported that FLS Group had acquired a major stake in LogiProject, an Italian logistics company.
