Fred. Olsen Windcarrier has completed the offshore works related to the decommissioning of two gas platforms for Perenco UK.
Fred. Olsen’s jack-up vessel Blue Tern began the work at the Tyne and Guinevere installations in the North Sea in December 2019 was tasked with removing two topside and jacket structures. The project scope was completed when the ship arrived at the Hoondert disposal facility in Vlissingen, the Netherlands on January 13.
Ardent Global was responsible for planning and engineering the cutting, lifting, seafastening and offloading works, while Fred. Olsen handled vessel operation and overall management of the project.
“This is the first oil and gas decommissioning work down by Fred. Olsen Windcarrier, and represents a new market segment for us,” said Henrik Mork, head of project execution at the company.
