Italy-headquartered transport engineering specialist Fagioli has handled the transport of a 230-tonne rotor from Terni to Shanghai, China.
The company’s project logistics and heavy rail departments organised the shipment, which involved using its own 32-axle rail wagon for delivery to the port of Civitavecchia.
The rotor was then transhipped onto 16 axle lines of SPMTs using gantry cranes and subsequently loaded onto Spliethoff’s heavy lift vessel Spiegelgracht at the port for onward delivery to Shanghai.
