Egyptian Global Logistics (EGL), the logistics arm of the Kadmar Group, has delivered two Siemens transformers to the El Galala power station on Egypt's Red Sea coast.

The transformers, weighing 122.4 tonnes each, arrived at the port of Alexandria from Antwerp onboard Steller Atlantic. EGL stevedores discharged the units, which measured 8.42 m x 3.28 m x 4.89 m, using a 453-tonne lifting capacity Demag TC3200 mobile crane.

After securing the necessary permits, EGL then transported the transformers 480 km from the port to the El Galala power station, using two 12-axle line Goldhofer modular trailers.

Once onsite EGL moved the transformers onto a concrete foundations using an Enerpac hydraulic jacking and skidding system.
