Dimerco has coordinated the delivery of oversized cargo from Guangdong, China, to Lahore, Pakistan, for a leading telecommunications company.
Production line equipment, with a combined weight of 91.6 tonnes, was delivered using a chartered Boeing 777 freighter on a tight five-day timescale.
Dimerco said that it liaised with the relevant inspection institute to ensure the production equipment was safely prepared for delivery by air. It also coordinated local haulage using lowbed trailers.
A spokesperson on behalf of Dimerco said: “Most airlines providing a service to Pakistan offer a route to Karachi rather than Lahore, but clearly this would have been less convenient for our client, creating a longer transit time with higher costs. It would also have meant a delay in the client’s new plant becoming operational, incurring costly lost production time.”
