Project freight forwarder deugro has transported a 430-tonne transformer, the largest it has ever handled.
According to the company, this is the largest transformer it has ever transported and the biggest single item ever handled by Saterland, Germany-based c-Port Küstenkanal.
The transformer was produced by Siemens Energy and is a key component of the BorWin5 offshore grid connection system. BorWin5 is a 900 MW HVDC project developed by TenneT that links the He Dreiht wind farm in the North Sea to Germany’s onshore grid.
A heavy lift crawler crane supplied by Schmidbauer executed the lift at the terminal.
