Dan-Czech Specialtransport has handled the delivery of silos, measuring 26.8 m long, from Žilina in Slovakia to the UK.
Dan-Czech transported the cargoes from Žilina to the port of Cuxhaven in Germany, using a trailer and girder bridge combination. The total length of the cargo loaded on to the trailer measured 45 m and weighed 88 tonnes.
Upon arrival in Cuxhaven, the silos were loaded onto semi-trailers that reduced the overall length of the combination to 33 m, in order to comply with Dan-Czech’s permits in the UK.
The silos were subsequently transported to Immingham in the UK on board a DFDS ferry service. From Immingham, Dan-Czech transported the cargoes, which each had a diameter of 4 m, to Knottingley.
In total, Dan-Czech transported three silos across two shipments.
