DAKO Worldwide Transport has successfully delivered a 105-tonne water tube boiler and the respective accessories from Hungary to a chemical production facility in Ludwigshafen, Germany.
The first major challenge arose during load planning at the manufacturer’s workshop. The boiler measured 6.98 m in width, just shy of the 7 m available at the workshop’s exit. The tight clearance required precise manoeuvring and coordination by the entire team.
While some components could be transported by road from Hungary to Germany, the overall dimensions and weight of the main equipment – particularly the water tube boiler – required a different approach.
DAKO said that it developed a multimodal transport concept, moving the boiler from the workshop to the river port in Dunavecse. There, it was loaded onto a river vessel for onward transport via the Danube to the Rhine port in Ludwigshafen. DAKO worked in close partnership with Bolk Transport to ensure the successful delivery of the cargo to its final destination.
