The first eight monopile foundations for the Dominion Energy Coastal Virginia Offshore Wind Farm (CVOW) have been delivered to the Portsmouth Marine Terminal in Virginia, USA.
The heavy load carrier Sun Shine transported the monopiles to just off the Naval Operations Base in Norfolk. From there, tugs from McAllister Towing – Alicia F. McAllister and Rosemary McAllister – guided the ship and monopiles to the Portsmouth Marine Terminal.
On behalf of DEME Group, McAllister Towing deployed a Mediterranean mooring technique – the first ever Mediterranean mooring in the port of Virginia.
