Greece-based Cosmatos Shipping Services has handled the transport of heavy and oversized silos.
The shipment included three silos measuring 16.5 m x 7.7 m x 8.1 m and weighing 36 tonnes each, as well as one 52-tonne silo measuring 19.95 m x 4.22 m x 4.55 m.
The intermodal transport saw the silos move from the Salcon site at Thessaloniki’s city limits to Thessaloniki port. There, Cosmatos chartered a ro-ro ferry to ship the cargoes to Soussaki port ahead of an overland transport operation to Motor Oil’s site.
Cosmatos Shipping Services is a member of the Worldwide Project Consortium (WWPC).
