Collett & Sons has completed the delivery of a 170-tonne transformer using its girder bridge trailer from the port of Ellesmere to Willenhall substation in the UK.
Collett worked closely with multiple local councils to minimise disruption and impact on other road users during the move.
On arrival at the project site, the transformer was discharged from the girder bridge on to SPMTs. The transformer was manoeuvred into position and lowered onto support stools. Hydraulic push/pull units were engaged to move transformer onto its designated plinth.
