Collett & Sons has moved a 170-tonne Hyundai transformer from Port Sutton Bridge in Lincolnshire to the Eaton Socon substation in St Neots, Cambridgeshire.
The transformer was 8.6 m long, 4.91 m wide and 4.75 m high. At Port Sutton Bridge, Collett carried out all port services including stevedoring, lift plans and crane hire. Collett was also responsible for discharging the cargo from the hold of the vessel on to its Scheuerle girder bridge.
The 78-mile (125.5-km) move required the removal of street furniture, contraflow manoeuvres and temporary parking restrictions to allow the 66 m long, 4.8 m high loaded combination to pass safely.
At the site, the cargo was delivered for installation via a pre-positioned trackway.
Collett completed jacking and skidding operations to manoeuvre the transformer onto the awaiting plinth.
