Multipurpose shipping line Chipolbrok has been busy in Sweden lately and has several deliveries scheduled for 2025 – citing the country’s electricity generation market as a strong performer.
Along with Sweden’s more traditional focus on hydropower and electricity from nuclear generation, Chipolbrok referenced the increased emphasis on wind power within the country.
The company’s vessel Chipol Changan recently shipped a full load of wind tower sections from Phu My, Vietnam, to Oskarshamn, Sweden. Units weighed up to 88 tonnes and measured up to 36 m in length and, despite it being winter in Sweden, there were no disruptions to the delivery. Another full load of tower segments with the same weight and sizes are scheduled to arrive in Oskarshamn in mid-April.
In March, Chipolbrok’s 62,000 dwt multipurpose vessel Yong Xing will load V162 wind turbine blades in Lvsi, Lvsi (a relatively new port next to Nantong city), China. The cargoes measure 81 m in length and have unit weights of 23 tonnes. These will be shipped to Oskarshamn too, but for another project in the middle of Sweden, before a second lot of blades are sent – bringing the total to 60.
Last week, HLPFI reported that Chipolbrok has been busy in both Europe and the Middle East.
