C.H. Robinson has delivered 14 cryogenic trailers from Edmonton, Canada, to Brazil.
The units, which weighed 180 tonnes, were trucked from Edmonton to Galveston in Texas, where they were loaded onboard a Wallenius Wilhelmsen Ocean ro-ro vessel.
The vessel then shipped the cargoes to Panama where they were transloaded onto a second vessel bound for the port of Santos in Brazil.
C.H. Robinson said the cargo was on a strict timeline of one week, as it was urgently needed to provide oxygen at Brazilian health facilities to help tackle the spike in Covid-19 cases.
During the discharge at Panama, the local onsite team noticed the units were dirty due to the journey via road from Alberta to Galveston. As there were a few days to spare before the next vessel arrived, the team arranged for the trailers to be professionally cleaned at the terminal before being loaded onto the second ship.
