United European Car Carriers (UECC) has delivered the first of 98 train carriages to the port of Bristol, UK, aboard its vessel Autosun.
Shipped from Spain, the diesel train arrived at Royal Portbury Dock and was unloaded at the port’s general cargo terminal before being transported by truck to Merseyside.
The 98 carriages are being built by Spanish firm Construcciones y Auxiliar de Ferrocarriles (CAF) and will form part of Arriva Rail North’s (Northern) modernisation plans, which also include removing Pacer trains, refurbishing all existing trains and adding more services by 2020.
