Boskalis has installed the foundations for the 589 MW Changfang and Xidao offshore wind farm in Taiwan.
In the last three years, Boskalis installed 186 pin piles with its crane vessels Bokalift 1 and Bokalift 2, before installing 62 three-legged jacket foundations.
After the first two campaigns, the Bokalift 1 was assisted by Boskalis’ heavy transport vessel Mighty Servant 3, which transported a number of jackets from Taipei to the offshore wind farm. The company’s construction support vessels BOKA Atlantic and BOKA Tiamat were also on hand, providing essential supporting activities.
Boskalis faced several challenges at the start of project due to Covid-19 and related restrictions. The company said that it accelerated its installation campaign with additional vessels, meaning it was able to complete the work ahead of schedule in 2023.
