Blue Water Shipping has handled the transport of subsea equipment from Jubail, Saudi Arabia on behalf of offshore equipment supplier Menck.
The consignment, which included hydraulic pile driving hammers, weighed 700 tons (635 tonnes) in total. The heaviest unit weighed 170 tons (154.2 tonnes).
Blue Water Shipping was responsible for separating all cargoes in Jebel Ali, ready for shipment on a chartered vessel calling at India, Singapore and Germany.
In a separate project, Blue Water Shipping handled the transport of drydock components from Copenhagen, Denmark.
On behalf of Sweden’s Marine Group, Blue Water Shipping loaded three out of four locks systems aboard the company’s barge, Carrier 16. The largest components measured 25 m x 65 m.
The barge subsequently transported the components to Stockholm. Blue Water Shipping was responsible for sourcing a suitable location for the loading of the drydock systems, which required semi-submersible operations.
Blue Water Shipping will also handle the loading and transport of the fourth lock system, which is planned for May 2019.
