New Iberia, Louisiana-headquartered Berard Transportation recently moved a 548-ton (497-tonne) tugboat measuring 123 ft (37. 4 m) long, 36 ft (10.9 m) wide and 67 ft (20.4 m) high.
The boat was transported from the fabrication yard to a launch barge in South Louisiana using 20 axle lines of SPMTs, barge ramps, cribbing and winch trucks.
The company used several levels of blocks to ensure the keel would clear the ground during load-out. The blocks were removed in order to lower the tugboat onto cribbing supports on the barge.
