USA-based heavy transport specialist Berard has offloaded an offshore jacket structure that will soon be decommissioned and recycled in south Louisiana.
The structure weighed 680 tons (616.8 tonnes) and measured 80 ft x 50 ft x 62 ft (24.4 m x 15.2 m x 18.9 m).
Berard deployed 32 axle lines of SPMTs, two power packs, barge ramps and winch trucks for the operation.
The SPMTs were used to roll the structure off the client’s yard. Steel plating was used to help distribute the load on the ground. The jacket was then placed into final position so the client can begin the recycling process.
