Russia’s Barrus Projects has transported a gas turbine’s rotor from Siemens’ gas turbine technologies plant in Gorelovo to the South Ural Hydroelectric Power Station-2 in Chelyabinsk region.
The rotor was delivered and installed after the old unit was dismantled, which Barrus also transported back to the factory in Gorelovo by rail. The new rotor measured 11.5 m x 3.3 m x 3.3 m and weighed 107.1 tonnes.
As part of the five-month project, Barrus prepared the transport documents, obtained permits for the oversized transport and loading operations, and produced the necessary railway drawings.
