Canada-based Balena Projects has shipped a press machine from the Far East to North America.

For the project, Balena chartered a vessel to move 96 crates, which included heavy lift pieces weighing up to 185 tonnes.

Across two days, tandem cranes were used to discharge six heavy pieces. Then, five days were afforded for overland transportation, with a 500-tonne gantry crane handling the offloading at the jobsite.

There was limited space at the assembly facility, so the cargo pieces were transloaded onto an SPMT. Balena finalised its work for the project by reassembling the press machine, which took two weeks.
